Hellfire Steak

It's not as hot as it sounds

Back to Home

A bishop I had growing up liked to talk about how he first had this kind of steak while camping, he said that when he had it then they cooked it slow over the hot coals of the campfire. I believe he claimed that this was the best steak he ever had.

What You'll Need

  • A Steak
  • Kosher Salt
  • Mustard Powder
  • Tabasco Sauce
  • Cooking Instructions

First you need to rub salt all over your steak, you will need to use more salt than you'd usually be comfortable putting on a steak, through some sort of magic the extra salt will cancel out the kick of the other ingredients. After your steak has been generously salted coat the entire thing with a layer of mustard powder then liberally pour Tabasco Sauce all over it. Again with the Tabasco Sauce, like with the salt, you should probably dump more on it than you'd usually feel comfortable with since the other ingredients will cancel out some of the spice as it cooks.

Grill your steak low and slow until it has reached your preferred level of doneness and enjoy.
